I was given this book as a gift. Never read David McCullough’s work before, but I know now he is an incredible historian. Not only does he tell the events in a clear and understandable way, but he makes it fun and as if you’re there experiencing and living it yourself. On top of that the extent of his sources are surprising, I wouldn’t have expected that so many letters and telegrams had been saved.
