‘The three swords’ short story is so far my favorite, close behind is the inn at the edge of the world

“Stars could be acquired and exchange for coins or favors or secrets, saved by wishful dreamers in hopes that the star merchant might cross their path” (page 133).
I love when payments for wonderous items can be favors or secrets. It’s also used in Caraval by Stephanie Garber in the Dress shop near the beginning of the novel. There’s something about it that is just 🤌✨
