Curious to know how you end up liking this one! I liked the first book, started reading this one but gave up pretty quickly. Let me know if I should give it another chance. Sometimes I abandon too quickly just because of my mood. 😁

I unstand that. I'm the same way. I'm about a fourth of the way through, and so far, I'm liking it. I'll circle back to let you know my final verdict.

Circling back. It was okay. The children were developed more in this book, and we get to see more of their personalities. The book definitely could have been shorter. There were some long, tedious, and unnecessary descriptions of people, places, and emotions. There were extended side stories that didn't add to the story. Also, he was a bit heavy-handed with the politics in this one. I feel he should have let the story guide the compass, not his hand.

I say wait until you're in the mood for sure. I was able to finish it because I listened to the audio. I did A LOT of skipping.
