Just starting Part 3. The author did her research so I’m pleased. I like how she uses real competitions and their locations. There’s only one slip up. There absolutely wouldn’t have been a Japanese ice dance team in FIFTH place at 2002 Worlds because ice dance is almost nonexistent in Japan. This book is very past faced and hard to put down. I’m going to get through it pretty quickly.

Done. It was a fun and entertaining read. Any figure skating fan will get a kick out of it! I thought it got far-fetched but then I remember the real-life hot mess of the ladies’ competition in 2022. So not THAT improbable after all. …other than ice dancers having that much popularity. I liked the character development and the relationship between Kat and Bella.

Their relationship is just unhealthy. And Heath is kind of annoying; he reminds me of Xaden from the Fourth Wing. Not sure I like Katerina. Heh, Ellis is a trip. (I think he’s inspired by Dave Lease.). This is fiction with made up characters so it’s funny reading about Olympics that I actually watched.

I’m enjoying this so far. What happened in Sochi? I thought the main characters were inspired by Virtue/Moir, but a character named Isabella Lin just popped up and a lightbulb went off in my head. Katherine SHAW, HEATH, and now Isabella Lin. Must be a Wuthering Heights thingie and that whizzed right over my head for the first 25 pages! But did she hurt her hip just now? Ooh, right of way was mentioned. Heh!
