saw someone on goodreads started reading it so picked this bad boi up again.
and finally realised why I struggle with thjs book - the vast amount of name drops of the influences that Wagner had in his peers and future generations of artists and philosophers. a few paragraphs of descriptions of their works and then moved on to the next influence…

The Jewish part was so fascinating and then the black wagnerites part felt like a bit of a tack on.... ill be interested to see if the balance is the same for feminist and gay wagnerites
