most of these stories so far are riffs on “life goes on”, through the good and the bad. i don’t always understand how parts of a story connect (eg sasha/boshen’s yearning for yang vs sasha’s unborn child) but then it lands with a sucker punch of an ending like:

Being a mother must be the saddest yet the most hopeful thing in the world, falling into a love that, once started, would never end.
