Reading again because the book is important to my understanding of how human society developed. I want to use this in some of my own future writing.
Very good book so far with a compelling thesis and an excellent counter to racial thought.

The natives of the lands in the Americas were much more numerous than the European invaders, but the Europeans were able to conquer them simply because they had better weapons and diseases. This is a great example of the conditions that favored the Europeans over the natives, and it sets up the book for a better explanation.

It is very interesting and it leads you down a path that is realitavly easy to understand. People from places other than Europe are not different genetically from people anywhere else(as I thought), but it gets you thinking about why Europe developed more first.
