Definitely not as good as the first book. The story arcs didn’t flow into each other well at all, and the plot was a bit all over the place. The Jack Barlowe twist was really weak - that plotline could’ve been done with some other character for greater effect (someone closer that became desperate for greater power), without having to bring Jack back.

It’s still a fun read, but definitely a downgrade

I don't know if it's just me, but some combat scenes in this book have been really hard to follow. I didn't have this problem with the first book

I love them as characters and I really like their relationship, but I’m honestly getting a bit tired of the sex scenes. I get the point, can we move on
