The fact that Lymond’s been avoiding this revelation probably very intentionally and has been only pushed into it because he promised Phillipa and it’s not a pleasant revelation but ultimately may bring him some peace but he also probably already knew it BUT WHY DON’T I KNOW IT. WHY IS SHE NOT TELLING ME THE SECRET

See, everybody loves Lymond. And you might be like “bruh why does everybody fall in love with him” and think it’s poor writing. But the problem is, I (underscore, bold) would 100% fall in love with him. Christian and Oonagh and Güzel and Catherine are all very relatable women. Lymond: keeps Phillipa at arms length because he loves her and is afraid of it. Wants a divorce to free her of him.

Phillipa: reads all his signals as him afraid she’s gonna fall in love with him. “I WOULD NEVER” also sets him up with other women repeatedly. Thinks he wants a divorce to be free of her.

I’m gonna be insufferable as I read this book heads up.

the problem is I can’t be as insufferable as I want to be.

Phillipa making Lymond almost swear in front of ladies is sooooo funny. “Stricken silent, three by no means inarticulate people looked at her.”

I love that Phillipa is the only person who can consistently make Lymond lose his marbles
