What a dull start. I don't know anyone and therefore don't care about anyone, but the MC is already pushing me the wrong way: antisocial, skeptical, cynical. Endless complaining about being the the victim and isolated with a glimmer of paranoia mixed in. No wonder no one on the crew likes her.

Also, the writing is quite dull. It feels very much like 'look at all the research I did for this!' Which is boring.
