CHARACTERIZATION:Anthony Horowitz teaches the reader about Alex by showing us what Alex thinks and does. On Pg. 254 it says, "Alex knew what he was doing was a mistake, but he had to see for himself what Drevin was doing." This shows that Anthony Horowitz teaches us using thoughts and actions because Alex is thinking about how he shouldn't see for himself but he does it anyways which shows he is a risk taker.

Protagonist: The protagonist in Alex Rider is Nikolai Drevin who is a Russian multi millionaire who is trying to blow up the Pentagon. On Pg.226 he says, " The building will be destroyed. All the people there will die, and every last scrap of information will be incinerated." This shows that Nikolai wants blow up the Pentagon because he wants to destroy all the evidence on him.
