I can see why this book was considered revolutionary in the ’60s. It pioneered a lot of concepts that shaped modern fantasy. The downside is that, reading it now, it feels almost too familiar—like I’ve already seen these ideas in dozens of later works. It's affecting my enjoyment even though I respect its importance.
