Chapter 2 contains a helpful, paradigm-shifting reframing of how we obtain freedom through the gospel. Namely, that becoming like Jesus is more about denying self than it is striving to become like Christ. Christ is distinct from us, and the striving can easily become a more sophisticated version of legalism. Christ's distinctness from us should lead us to worship.

Good book. Very different from chapter 1, but yeah

Holy crap this book is good. I see why it was gifted to me (shout out to Lee Meadows). Author went through CPE and uses examples from that time, and employs Bowen family systems theory, which I learned in CPE myself.
