Just finished the titular story "Exhalation", and wow, it was good. If only I were a physicist, I feel as though I could draw a better corollary, or what have you, to the fate of the narrator’s world and the potential reality/fate of our own universe. It would be interesting for someone like that to share their thoughts after reading this story.

Wow. Sometimes you can just tell that something is going to be special. Just finished “The Merchant and the Alchemist’s Gate”, the first story in the collection. A beautiful story, which feels akin to “The Alchemist”, one of my favourite novels.
