It’s a total joke. Removing features we use instead of adding features we need is so typical goodreads behaviour.

EXACTLY! Notifications on comment replies have been broken since spring so let’s reduce other kinds of engagement too.

Really? Maybe the news is making me paranoid, but that sounds like a cost cutting thing - don't want to pay staff to respond to reports or something.

Right? The site needs to be updated with more features, not less. Amazon obviously doesn't care to put money into the site and would rather have it stay a relic and unusable.

Ya I feel like they will eventually shut it down and try to direct us to put reviews on Amazon only, where they can scrub our reviews for AI summaries.

They keep making things worse on Goodreads with their "updates". They didn't even give a date they are shutting DM's down. Some people don't see their messages right away. Some people have been Goodreads friends for years. Pretty soon it will be like Amazon where you can only write short reviews with no gifs or pictures. Maybe that is their goal to shut it down eventually.

I have been wanting half stars for a while now but that prob will never happen. You get glitches instead where your likes don't show. You get updates that make things worse. 🙁

Some people have said they can't open the spoiler tabs to reads the spoilers.🙄
