And now this latest “update” feels like the final blow.

It’s like watching the GR I loved being dismantled piece by piece.

I am truly gobsmacked.

OMG seriously?! Ive missed this news somehow but that is the most ridiculous thing I've heard.
Removing the ability to chat directly makes no sense to me at all.

Yeah it's really stupid. It doesn't even make sense. Removing the ability to directly message people for what exactly??? What will be left? That's the point of DMs.

There's a petition going around to try and save it. And of course GR won't let me post the link here for "safety reasons". 🙄 Wonder when that went into effect. I also posted it about it on their community board. I mean it may not make any difference but it helps to make noise about it.

This is so sad… like you, I’ve been on here for over a decade and it used to be such a great place to make friends who read and enjoyed yapping about books with other readers. This is another nail in the coffin 😥
