Reading this AGAIN as a law graduate.
The main character is arguing that humanity is split into “ordinary” people who must obey the law and “extraordinary” people who are allowed to break it. He argues that extraordinary individuals push society forward, so their crimes aren’t really crimes but necessary steps to create new laws and values. So some people have a moral right to break the law. Interesting.
