A great read so far but in the “humanitarian revolution” section I think there’s too much emphasis on a history of ideas and human agency- not the more mechanistic explanations I’d expect from Pinker

Great narrative account of superstitious violence in this chapter, great use of death rate per capita… but why’s there not a “per year” figure as well Steve?!?

Technically read the first fifth of this book time ago but somehow remembered it so just picking up where I left off
