For a book that takes place in hell, it feels a bit underwhelming, and I don’t really connect with Alice or Peter. I’ve enjoyed parts of it, but overall I don’t find it very compelling. I think I’m just not into Kuang’s writing style. I like her ideas, but I don’t fully connect with the execution.
