There is no harm in continuing to bewail it, to express one's sorrow, but not to ask for pardon, for that you already have-one's sorrow for being that sort of person. Your conscience need not be burdened with it in the sense of feeling that you have an unsettled account, but you can still in a sense be patiently and contentedly humbled by it
