Man, this is a slow read. I enjoy it, but it feels like I'll never get to end of the book. Every time I feel like I've read a lot, it turns out to only be like 1-2% of the book 😅

I'm... Conflicted. Love the nostalgic and ominous way of writing. Not so much the racist slurs, sexism and weird sexualisation of kids. I don't know if I've been living under a rock, but I had no clue Stephen King books were this problematic.

"She looked from her son to Bill and back to her son again, touched by wonder that was mostly simple perplexity but partly a fear so thin and sharp that it found its way deep into her inner heart and vibrated there like a tuning-fork made of clear ice."

I do love how ominous and nostalgic the writing is. Kind of the same way a lot of Japanese storytelling has a very special nostalgic feel to it.

This part of the book is really fucking uncomfortable, and it's not because of the horror. Ughh.
