Some Rob Liefeld sketches. It’s cool, some of the characters made up have a few familiar designs…

I didn’t read the articles but interestingly, they had to add a page in the ‘92 CE to make the double page spread line up correctly!
(It was more of the Wolvey and Cable fight, though they weren’t aware of who their opponent was at the time).

New Mutants #94
Cable and Wolverine’s fight has been going on for YEARS. But of course, something always interrupts them before there’s a clear winner.

Anyway, Ric once again makes a hasty decision and unintentionally causes a fire in the warehouse they’re in!

Lucky, all the heroes escape. But Stryfe may be gone… Probs not tho.

I wasn’t into these last two issues. They were quite random.

New Mutants #93
The New Mutants are in Madripoor!
And immediately attacked??

Their guide Sunfire helps them then mentions Cable's son...

Anyway, the NMs were asked to help deal with this new drug that makes people violent.

I wasn't really feeling this ish so I skimmed some of the dialogue.

Stryfe tells his plan to the heroes, for some reason.

Then in a warehouse we learn Cable has met... Wolverine!

I was on the fence on if I wanted to read New Mutants Summer Special.

I decided against it when I read the synopsis and flipped through the pages and saw some inappropriate drawings of a teenager.

A ‘glimpse into the future’ with some…interesting costume designs…

Then X-Factor Annual #5 AND X-Men Annual #14!?? Not sure why those Annuals were collected in this but I've linked my thoughts.

Read the main story of New Mutants Annual #6 as part of the Days of Future Present story line.

The second story was about Doug. As a lingering spirit!

Raine visits his grave and even though neither can hear the other, they communicate in a way that allows both of them to move on.

Well, somewhat anyway.

New Mutants #91 -
Sometimes these characters say things I’m sure is more for the reader than anything else.

Like, how the teens and Cable talked about how they could definitely take those Morlock bruisers but they were only down there for Ric.

Anyway, Caliban ends his fight with Sabretooth by breaking his back (and killing him?)

Later, Ric realises that even tho he doesn’t like Cabe, he respects him.

New Mutants #90 -
How many times has Sabretooth come back from death?

As Sabretooth hunts the remaining Morlocks, Caliban hunts him.

I’ve felt like everything has been going in slow motion.

I like that the teens have a teacher-figure in their life now tho.

Ric gets frustrated and upset and decides to enter the tunnels alone. Cable learns of this and gets the NMs to gear up for the unknown dangers.

New Mutants #89 -
Everyone knows Cable apparently!

Anyway, Cable doesn’t end up reaching the X-Factor… but the New Mutants instead.
Who help the old man against Blob and Pyro.

Later, Moira is delayed from taking Rahne just long enough for Cable to convince her that it’s ok for Rahne to stay.

Drama in the fact that Cable doesn’t remember Ric but he sure knows the cyborg!

New Mutants #88 -
Just like the X-Men comics, this series isn’t really about the New Mutants anymore.

Cable was helped/captured by the Freedom Force who insist the young Rusty and Skids are working with the Mutant Liberation Force.

While the young teens reunite with their X-Factor mentors, Cable is escaping his prison.

Apparently, he’s a ‘legend’ and didn’t start his beef with the government…
