omg yes, same! i first read it in high school too, and now i’m rereading it after a whole decade.. it hits so differently😭 the writing is just unbelievably beautiful… im low-key trying to slow down because i dont want it to end :' )
and no, i havent read bright lights, big city yet, but now that you recommended it, its definitely going on my list!

Erik Catcher is one of the finest examples of pure literature I think. Try also ken kesey's One flew over the CUckoos Nest. If you didn't read that one yet.
