Chapter 5 like how Knecht, whose two years of self study in Father Jacobus, has been co-opted by the Castilian society as a diplomatic mission to spread the Glass Bead Game into the Roman orthodoxy.

I’m starting to understand the structure of this book, as Hesse brings the theoretical concept of the Glass Beas Game, this fictionalized unifying ontology system, as a way to journey through and critique related world religions and philosophies.

The chapter I’ve just completed, Two Orders, takes us through breaks through Knecht’s experience inside a Christian monastery. Great discussions!
