This book has so far introduced me to the fact that Slavs are an ethnic group divided into many nations. We arrived in Europe during the Great Migration era as the last group to settle there, spreading across the continent. We endured great hardships because we were mostly settlers living in tribal communities. We were enslaved and colonized by the Avars, though not only by them. Nobody knows where we came from.
