Although I haven't read this book, I'll be interested to read your final review. Indeed, it seems that historians tend to have widely varied reviews about George Meade; while Allen C. Guelzo knocked his performance at Gettysburg, others feel that he was unfairly maligned for not giving Lee a knockout punch in July 1863

Kent Masterson Brown has a reputation for being very evidence-driven, so I am especially interested in what he does with the Meade controversy. A lot of the criticism of Meade seems to come from postwar politics, reputational battles, and later authors shaping the narrative, so I am hoping this book separates the mythology from the documentation. I will definitely post a thorough review once I am finished — Gettysburg is one of those battles where every serious book adds a new layer.
