So far, I am blown away at what the translators have done with this book. I read up on the writing style because I was struggling at first. The original text bounces between “proper Russian” and Belarusian. The weaving of the languages throughout the chapters is meant to give the feel of having your native language mocked and erased. This translation uses Scots dialect with English to do the same. Amazing.
