eating while reading is one of life's great pleasures -- King has other ideas of what these pleasures are -- and the NICEST thing is to have a good meal while the characters are in privation. i had an entire pizza while reading The Terror and it was the best pizza of my life (meanwhile they all died of scurvy).

anyway this is VERY TYPICAL King so if you hate this, he is just not for you.

i hate walking so this is good in a "wow, could never be me" sort of way

this all sounds very boring for the walkers. blah blah try not to get shot blah blah try not to collapse

anyway i love Stephen King and i love camping and i am never, never going to hike the AT.
