The Long Walk by Kate Elliot was a simple but lovely and engaging story about women's roles in society. Over forty pages but I enjoyed every one of them.

I was interested in what R.F. Kuang would do and she didn't disappoint. Her story, The Nine Curves River, takes place in her Poppy War world, but stands alone and stands quite strong.

Where the River Turns to Concrete by Brooke Bolander was a surprisingly great story for me. It's gritty in a way I don't normally seek out in stories, but had so much heart. Another unique interpretation of dragons too. Big fan.

I wanted to leave notes about the stand-out stories as I go.

Yuli by Daniel Abraham was the first story that really grabbed me. As a nerd, I loved the Dungeons & Dragons tie-in, but I also love the interpretation of the ideals and motifs of dragons, rather than actual, physical dragons.
