Reading plan: I think I'll be done in the next 2 reading periods. I can read around 15 pages each period, and I'll also read at least once during the weekend

I need 2-3 times to finish my book. I have 8 reading times left. I'll have to find a new book, I will be able to finish on time.

Theme: family pressure - Alejandra is dealing with the way her mom is; she's trying to go to the college she always wanted, but her mom doesn't want her to go, so there's pressure on what decision she should make in her life.

Person vs. Self: Ally is dealing with her emotions after her dad's death, she's also dealing with how she thinks people think about her, and how that's going to affect her life

Conflict: Person vs. Self, Ale vs. her personal conflicts after her dad's death and the way how she thinks people think about her

Laurel - she's Ally's best friend. She tries to help her, even when their lives are very different. She tries to make everyone see Ally the way she sees her. She hates it when they are unfair to her. She is a very nice person.

My favorite character so far is Laurel. She's Ally's best friend, worries about injustices, and tries to fight for what she sees as right.

The danger from banning books might be that we're losing knowledge that might be helpful in real-life situations, just because someone thought it was not "appropriate."
