Excellent writing, but not appealing to me—not the author's fault. Some seems biologically... unlikely? Read "The Vanishing Point" halfway through and tried to skim and gave up.

I don't like these people, but then neither does the author. I recognize many of their struggles from childhood through adolescence, young adulthood, parenting... The stories make me uncomfortable by familiarity without being in any way revelatory.
