Ugh, I can't reply to DMs asking me for means of contact outside GR, so if you still can send DMs with your email/other info to me instead of asking me whilst I can't reply, please do so. Before we lose DMs for good.
So annoying! Damn you, Amazon & Bezos, your father was a hamster and your mother smelt of elderberries, and that inflatable doll you call a wife deflates like a popped balloon whenever she's under you.

I panicked at first, thinking they'd deleted DMs at last, but people are still able to send them, I just can't reply so I'm assuming bugs.
I'll retry tomorrow.

Same here, Marquise. I can't respond to DMs any more, making it impossible to tell people I can't respond to their DMS. C'est absurde!

It's going on since yesterday, I assumed it would be gone by today. I give them until tomorrow, or I'll start thinking it's permanent. :(
Raise your hand if you've ever felt personally victimized by Goodreads. In addition to DMs being turned off, and all the problems users face with liking and commenting on friends' reviews, I'm beginning to believe A) the Goodreads team is incompetent, B) their goal is to ruin this site and drive as many users away as they can, C) all of the above.
It's disheartening to see so many people leaving or posting less frequently. Oh, well. At least this has brought us all closer together through exchanging emails and keeping in touch in other ways.
P.S. I can't even see my comment. I only see it if I click on the update and open it. *shakes fist at Goodreads*

My suspicion is that this is the last month we have the DMs, and those that took a break or went on holiday before the announcement are in for a nasty surprise when they return.
For me, it's kind of a fitting shitty ending to a shitty year. You know how bad it has been beyond the GR and books stuff everyone can see, so it's almost amusing that it's ending the Shakespeare way: all's bad that ends badly. 😂
I don't want to do all my things only in my blog. It's . . . isolating, nobody goes to blogs & websites anymore. People like the interaction, the chats, even the fights.
Aaaand . . . back to not being able to reply to DMs.Goodreads really are doing their damnedest to lose me when I'm doing my damnedest to cling to the site for the friends, aren't they?
I'm losing this battle, peeps. :'(
