(making connections) A connection I have made between my book and myself is when Sunny gets stressed out and worried about his track career due to his dads pressure I as well get stressed and worried about sports and if I will live up to my dads expectations. I found that Sunny gets stressed when his dad pressures him to breath on page 91 where Sunny gets frustrated and says "you tell me to breath, but I cant."

(ANTAGONIST 11/17) The antagonist in my book Sunny is his dad Daryl, I have come to this understanding due to how much they argue and how much his dad pushes him to be better. I found this because on page 73 it says "You say breath, but I cant, I cant breath."

(VISUALIZE) While reading this book Sunny, there were many times I had visualized what was being described. One of these times included when he and his dad started to get along in the morning. Daryl offered Sunny his coffee, I feel like I could taste the bitterness of the black coffee and a kind of awkward vibe. I found this because on pg 133 it says "The black coffee steamed over my lips as I took a sip."

(CHARACTERIZATION) The character in my book Sunny feels sad and stressed about the loss of his mom and his track career. This shows that Sunny is a introverted character who keeps to himself and is worried about what's next. I found this evidence because on page 26 it says "Do you think your mom would be proud of this?" This shows that his dad is pressuring him to be better in his track career which stresses him out.

(STATIC VS DYNAMIC) In my book Sunny by Jason Reynolds, the main character Sunny is a dynamic character.I know this because Sunny undergoes the loss of his mom which changes his perspective over his track career which then creates a conflict between him and his dad. I found this because in the text sunny states in an argument with his dad "That's what you say? You say I have to breathe, but I can't. I can't breathe."

(CONFLICT) In my book Sunny by Jason Reynolds. Sunny has internal conflict with guilt and grief over the loss of his late mother which later leads to a conflict with his father who urges him to continue his mothers legacy of being a track star. I found this evidence because on Pg 9-10 it says "She's not here because I am. Because of me." it also says "your mother would want you to work harder, what's wrong with you?"

(PREDICTIONS) I predict that in Chapter 5 of SUNNY, Sunny will start to get over the grieving of his late mother and use it as motivation for his track career. I think this because in chapter 4 Sunny has an honest and vulnerable, conversation about his mother with his teacher. I found this evidence on page 32.

(PERSPCTIVE) The perspective of my book Sunny is a first person book about a boy who writes about what he's thinking about in his diary. I know that this is a first person because the story is presented as a series of diary entries from the main character, Sunny. Throughout the book, Sunny shares his thoughts, feelings, and experiences, using first-person pronouns like "I" and "my".

(PERSPCTIVE) The perspective of my book Sunny is a first person book about a boy who writes about what he's thinking about in his diary. I know this because in every chapter the first sentence is "Dear, Diary". In this book he faces chalanges in his sport track where his coach Daryl Is very hard on him.
