Oh my goddddd how tired I am of flat, boring, dull “ordinary” female characters who have nothing going for them and live in the shadows of the men and have to “find excitement”. This book is going to fucking suck I already know.

Not sure how I feel so far. I don’t love that post-covid cynicism that always appears in books set after the pandemic and it shines through real bright in this first chapter.
