Her father asks why the MMC left, and the FMC waffles. She does not take ultimate responsibility that he left because she could not commit. That was the whole point. Instead she says she was busy and distracted. The FMC doesn't take enough ownership in how poorly she treats him. I really wish the MMC had ended up alone rather than with the FMC.
