With all of the disappointing GRs news the last few days, Im experiencing a plethora of updates- like the many we used to get a few years ago that simply dropped off. I began noticed the increase about ten days ago. "Friends" that I havent seen in over a year or two are suddenly appearing. Tonight really caught me off guard. Im thrilled!! Just want to know if anyone else is recognizing this.

Ooh, you have had a rough time, and Im so sorry. I am happy to see you here Tzipora . The disappointing news is that Amazon has decided to cut out the private messages (DM) we can send to our friends along with images. As for receiving more updates from friends, Im thrilled.
Longer messy story and some truly rough and awful last few years (that included a moving company losing all of my belongings- including virtually all 2000ish books on my “own” list that aren’t digital copies. I still grieve my beloved bookshelf and so many signed copies, favorites, and books I was so excited to eventually read. For a year or so I couldn’t even go into a bookstore, it was too upsetting). But felt really good to finally be reading again and while I’m in the hospital right now (found the books I read in a family room of sorts) hoping life finally settles back down for me. Suddenly was hit with a flurry of invites to advanced copies- from Net Galley and Edelweiss and ironically directly from a publisher I never could get invites or copies for when I was actively reviewing so I should sort those and see if any appeal. I have the hardest time with Jewish reads because they made up such a big percentage of the collection I lost but was just looking through nominations for the Jewish Book Club and have access to a really nice synagogue library right now.
