It's rough that sportgirl Kate doesn't even know the proper name for a menorah, but I do not like this trope where the protag dates someone as rebound for months, obviously hates them, and you just have to wait for her to go get back with Love Interest. I end up feeling kinda bad for Kate........

I know this book is set in 2009, but whose idea of a comfy afternoon involves all of the Harry Potter movies? Emma is not a Snapewife...

Mixed opinions about Emma bugging Mabel re: her closeted status, but also the gravitasse with which she mourns her summer lady, the sheer dramatic weight she gives this braid gal, I find is honestly endearing. She's such a dork, how can I not?

Narration is pretty spartan, but the poetry between chapters is dorky in a cute way, so I'm optimistic about this one.
