To be honest, some of the issues I had with another book by this author are present here—it’s a bit overwritten, heavy with metaphors and similes, so it makes the descriptions feel clunky and repetitive. The dialogue feels a little unnaturally stilted but this is a dystopian world so that matters less to me—maybe in this new world they speak differently, you know? The FMC has taken several blows to the head and body at this point and hasn’t been treated for them. I’m curious what this means long term LOL. All that to say: I’m chugging right along—the premise is still engaging enough and I want to see how things turn out.
