Oh... that scene was so upsetting...
Again, not at the actual horror I don't think... but pious adults who think they know best are more than horrifying enough I guess

manipulation at it's finest of a vulnerable girl (and i'm sure many since we just get a glimpse into the specific fmc)

I don't think we're at the horror part of the book and yet it's horrifying that this kind of cruelty happen and still happens.
