An average first few chapters - and the last Mystery I read was Craven’s The Curator, a hard act to follow - but one little plot development in this one, and the whole thing has lit up in the best way. I’m happy.

Somehow I had convinced myself that this was a much more recent Crime novel than it actually is. Sort of an older book…but unlike a lot of older Crime novels I seek because of reading guides and lists, this one has this fairly new edition. So I didn’t have to go after a 1980s paperback, expensive or not, ragged condition or not. I like this 2016 edition I have, and am curious about the author.
