Y’all. I tried, but I can’t do it.
Characters: Unlikable, boring, flat, not believable.
Pacing: SLOW
Context: All have 2020s thoughts, reasoning, and desires. No attention re: historic/cultural influences on the characters.
Instead: florid prose @ hair or skin; pretty turns of phrase but useless for making characters interesting or for moving the plot. This one annoyed, then bored me to death. It’s a DNF.
