Trochę jestem w szoku. Naprawdę tak pisało się o historii Rzymu ledwo 2-3 dekady temu? Wojsko na wojsku i wojskiem pogania. Szczerze, guzik mnie obchodzi, w którym dokładnie miejscu przebiegały granice i jakie forty (i gdzie) zbudowano na nich w roku x, a jakie w roku y. Zaczynam rozumieć, dlaczego 'SPQR' zbiera tak fantastyczne recenzje jako "nowe, świeże spojrzenie". Na tym tle to faktycznie historia ludu...

'A very great emperor' is not a phrase you should use in a serious scholarly publication, even if you were born in the 1920s. Besides, for some unknown reason my brain keeps reading this line in Donald Trump's voice, and that's very much not something I'd like to listen to in my free time.
Anyway, can't believe I made it through it all! That was a tour de force if I ever knew one.
