This is really good

Better than I expected. The premise still feels way WAY too similar to Red Rising (and its ilk) - and it may very well still develop in that direction - but there have been hints of uniqueness and differentiation already. +Nice writing.

The pseudo-grecoroman setting is intriguing and a welcome deviation from the more commonplace medieval settings fantasy so adores. The magic system is explicitly sandersonian so far.
