Not a fan of the nword as always, even to make a point. The point is unsubtle but funny. The humour is what balances everything out. Can't wait to see what dual conscious people end up doing when set free. So far it's fun I hope it stays that way and doesn't go too far...

Its okay, a few funny moments but the darkness makes it hard to enjoy. The carrot/stick of the magic school, calling magical people tainted, the senseless killings of the shoggoths. Hard to fully enjoy the lighthearted tone with those thorns.
I read book 2 before this but I only remember Diablerie and the overall plot from the second book. Hopefully my engagement picks up as the story progresses.
