Lisa What a great book! I love Steinbeck's writing. I hope you're enjoying your read.

Lisa, so do I, and while the last few weeks have been extra busy, I'm enjoying this one quite a lot. :)

Julie G This is one of those "bucket list" reads, as far as I'm concerned.

100%. Glad I'm finally getting around to this one, though all this time it may or may not have been the right time for it. Right now this is just perfect. It's also only the second time, having read James last year, that I encounter someone like Lee, and this is quickly becoming a favourite find in a story.

Julie G Charles,
I feel you. To this day, my sister and I will be on a phone call, talking about something like a true crime program, etc, and one of us will say something like, "She wasn't like a Cathy Ames, but she was pretty bad." Can you imagine having created characters with this type of staying power??

Now that's funny! And, telling. I have yet to see the full scale of her destructive power, but I can just imagine. She did get off to a flying start.
