It’s almost 1:30am and I just watched the rescue scene. Poor Ansel, but also glad Cade got revenge on Vex. Can’t wait to read more about the Umbra guys… most interesting part of the book so far. Glad Wyatt and Matthias weren’t dealing with this shit

It’s 11:53pm and I put this book down for many many hours and came back. It took until chapter 21 to find out who Ansel was working for - The Umbra Syndicate. The story feels a weird mix of moving too slow (the plot) and moving too fast (the romance). However parts of me likes Cade and Ansel’s relationship, but there’s too much cringe there as well

Chapter 15, just after Ansel smashes a cake in Candace’s face and calls Cade his boyfriend. And I’m going to be honest: not loving it right now. Cade falling was funny and in character, Ansel falling is too fast and still know nothing about him

The book is starting out a bit slow. Not in a bad way I mean I feel like I will enjoy the characters more, but they’ve been in this cabin/ faux kidnapping situation for 6 chapters and I’m not sure how much longer I can give an interest, especially when I still rarely know anything about the characters
