Foer hunts so hard for symbolism…

Plenty of good information in here. Biden is oddly absent from much of the text, though — not suggesting he was an absentee president, just noting that Foer mainly tells this history (so far) from the perspective of others, and the president doesn’t seem to be the focal point. Interesting choice. A bit weird.

Well, I haven't got very far with this... It's not the fault of the book. (I've been a fan of Foer's writing for years.) I think, with the election fast-approaching, I may just not be in the mood for this. I'll put it aside for a bit, and come back to it later.
