OK now the selfish little shit that is nickel is being too much, and I like how it’s been written by GA. It’s not jumping in the shock with his character development. It’s as though little parts of him that were understandable, or could be looked over because it balanced out with his caring for Emery. Those are the parts are now being expanded upon

I don’t know why GA keeps writing Emery to keep losing fights every single book without fail. There isn’t one book in the past four books where Emery hasn’t lost a fight towards the 90% mark of the end of the book every single book so far. He just feels incompetent to me right now. I don’t know why I should keep waiting for him because I don’t know if this author wants me to root for this character anymore.

At this point, I’m a broken record, but Emery just getting hits without being arrested is just a messed up part of this book. I have zero trust of faith in GA to know how to write something this important there’s so many plot points that have gone nowhere that are beautiful blood points with the hell that John Henry has caused Emery it looks as though it’s gonna be paved over like it’s nothing

Another shark jumping moment is Emery suddenly being someone that is breaking the rules because of her trauma and chemical gas, seriously? I wonder why this is going, but it feels like a very lazy way to evolve this character.

Why is Emery suddenly trained tantrums, and Somers is the one that’s calm that makes no sense. Seems out of character to me to have Emery be all over the place. It feels like in terms of his emotions and anger is usually very reserved in expressing any kind of feeling, especially intense feelings. This is jumping in a shark for me with this character and that sucks because he’s the best character

There’s so much physical violence suddenly hitting kicking punching. It’s too much. I don’t know why it’s OK. It’s not OK especially when you have a character that just has PTSD from from DV.

Emery and his foot to mouth problem is getting tiring. Especially for someone that has so much poison and patience in every other aspect I was able to control and even could be classified as tax return, the fact that he’s just says things and then always regret it immediately when it’s convenient for GA is a tiring trope.

Aside for the from the horrific bullying that he went through Emory, that is John Henry also lied about Emery being the reason he quit football and the way he did the disgusting things he claimed Emery did which relies has not permeated and destroyed memories, reputation even more now than it would’ve been because now people are accepting gay people, but he’s not just that to them. He’s also a pervert

I’m at a point where I’m just wondering cause I know from the blurb I’m from the reviews that this is the book where Emery and John Henry become a couple. I hope all the shit that John Henry did to. Emery is talked through and resolved before that happens if not, this is gonna be one of the worst books ever.

Emery‘s pattern is usually to push things down and cover it when it comes to being hurt he done he’s done it with Alec and Billy and now he’s in with Nico and with Somerset. When he’s hurt instead of confronting it or working on it, he ignores it. He doesn’t value his himself. He needs therapy. He needs to learn and he need to work on his self-esteem and learn to value himself
