Part 1 is done!
Aside from confusion at the beginning about what period the book took place in (for some reason I had it in my head it was the mid 20th century and was befuddled at the mention of an iPod) the first section was great.
Tart is a great writer of environments and internal dialogue. Theo is a great protagonist. The building situations and relationships make for a rich and subtly exciting read.

Section 4:
Theo is all grown up! Some real shocks in this section, holy! Am enjoying the twisting nature of Theo’s NYC life as a young capital A adult. Was more excited to see Boris than even Popper was.
Some of thin section felt a bit disjointed, with important and revealing conversations between characters followed by kind of meandering descriptions of areas and “traveling”(?). Builds well tho. Almost fin!

Part 2 = Finito
Theo really going through fear and loathing in Las Vegas. His “friendship” with Boris is so fun to read, and his evolving spiral of reckless and damaging behavior makes my heart hurt. Popper is a king. Xandra is a hoot. Theo’s dad makes my blood curdle.
Some of this reminds me of when I visited Vegas in 7th grade. Less drugs and shoplifting, more sunburns and overly cool air conditioning.
