Chapter 26-III: after speaking with Joanna Huck is realizing he doesn’t scam them. His girls are a nice people and he’s considering whether to snitch out the key of the Duke doctor or take the money for himself. Hide it somewhere that sends a letter so he’s gonna go look for the money.

Chapter32-II: When Huck she’s the woman welcoming him into his house he decides that Providence has taken him this far and he’ll trust that it will take him further. I’m thinking Tom will hopefully help Huck find him if he’s actually on the field or in another plantation.

Chapter 33: in his hopes to find and rescue him, he comes across our back house where a white woman welcomes him into her home. She says that she’s been waiting for him and he pretends that he is whoever she thinks he is but he doesn’t know who that is yet he comes to realize that they believe he’s Tom Sawyer, which gives him a relief he’s hoping to go to town find Tom tell him what’s happening.

Chapter 31: Huck is not becoming “good” by society’s standards. He’s rejecting society’s morality entirely. He’s decided he’s gonna try and rescue Jim from the people the keen of the Duke sold him too. That doesn’t mean Huck suddenly understands equality or justice in modern terms. It means he chooses human loyalty over social rules. He’s applying Jim’s ideals to himself which brings him here.

Chapter 30: They’re all in the raft. The king grabs Huck out of anger because he ran off and accuses him of wanting to get away without the king and the duke. The duke tells the king to calm down because he would’ve done the same. Afterwards, they start blaming each other for taking the money and putting it in the coffin at the end Huck reveals the truth to Jim, while the king & the Duke are in a drunken stupor.

Reflection: Jim has been able to see errors in his ways since the beginning of the story. However, the king, the Duke, even in their old age have never been able to do that in spite of having freedom and power over Jim. Hook as a 14-year-old child or so is barely having that moral light beginning to spark gym is the only one that has had that moral compass since the beginning.

Chapter29: The Wilks fraud comes into the open. The King and Duke are exposed and the stolen gold is finally recovered. Huck escapes in the chaos, briefly believing he and Jim are free only to realize that the con men are still following them down the river. Jim is still the moral compass that they all refuse to acknowledge or be. Jim’s story about his daughter when he found out she was deaf due to Scarlett fever

Chapter 26-II: they meet the sisters of the Wilkes man, Mary, Jane, Susan, and Joanna they make them believe that the king and the Duke are the British brothers of the Wilkes man who just died the only one that doesn’t fall for the scam is the doctor that nobody believes him. Huck is having an awakening. The scam doesn’t seem funny for him and he’s starting to see the girls as people. All Debating stay or go?

Chapter 26: the client decides to get on the steamboat because the keen and the Duke think it’ll be a good opportunity to run their next con. They paint them blue leave them in the raft so that he could pass off as a sick Arab with smallpox. In the steamboat the king of the Duke find out of the Wilkes man who just died and the fortune he’s left behind. They hear the story and decide that’s their scam.

Chapter 21: the group arrives to a town where the king of the Duke want to do a play for $.25 a ticket and $.10 a child and a slave. Huck witnesses an altercation between bogs and sherbet, which escalates quickly. Boggs is drunk and inciting the fight while Sherburn it’s basically telling him to back off and leave him alone, but ultimately Sherburne pulls out a gun and kills him now the town wants to Lynch Sherbrn.

Chapter 20: the Duke, the King, Jim and Huck are trying to figure out a way for Jim to be able to go about during the day. The key makes an ad out for Jim saying that he’s a runaway slave and they’re gonna pretend that they’ve caught him and that they’re taking him back to Louisiana that way if anybody ask, they have a good excuse for having jim out during the day.
